Wiltshire College selects McAvoy Education Building

The McAvoy Group is to provide an extensive classroom building for the Lackham campus at Wiltshire College, the county's main provider of further and higher education. The college has over 3,300 full time and 6,000 part time students.

McAvoy, which is based at Oxford, is to provide an extensive groundworks package including foundation design and installation and the removal and disposal of redundant temporary classrooms, relocation of existing services and installation of drainage and IT facilities.

McAvoy's in-house design team developed a 22-bay modular building to incorporate the education provider's requirements while maximising the space available.

Eugene Lynch, McAvoy Group Managing Director, commenting on the new contract, said: "Our designers have introduced glazed panelling to the interior walls of the classrooms to provide a shared learning experience.

"The team worked closely with the client on the development of a building which not only met the exacting standards required for educational facilities but incorporating the latest high tech teaching aids."

The spacious learning centre will consist of seven large classrooms with full IT facilities, storage area for each classroom, office and smaller tutorial rooms and WC and changing facilities

The McAvoy group has been providing temporary and permanent educational building solutions for over 35 years and our one of the leading providers of school buildings in the UK. With an extensive product range available for both hire and sale and introducing our latest energy efficient modular building, the cleverclass.
