McAvoy Off-Site recently helped contractors refurbishing the Ulster Museum in Belfast with an innovation solution to a substantial accommodation problem.

McAvoy Off-Site Prefabricated Modular Building Solutions recently completed a prestigious contract associated with the ongoing refurbishment of the Ulster Museum, one of Northern Ireland’s most important arts and cultural sites.

The Project
The Ulster Museum, among the most distinctive buildings of its type in Ireland, is undergoing a massive refurbishment programme to improve facilities for visitors, staff and some of the most valuable exhibits in the British Isles, as a result high quality facilities were required for staff, files and equipment at the temporary site at The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum. Since staff will be using the decant accommodation for some considerable time, the design and quality of the buildings had to be attractive, functional, comfortable and robust.

Client
McAvoy Off-Site secured the contract from New Quay Developments, the main contractor working on the decant project, to provide decant accommodation for staff and equipment.

New Quay is undertaking the project for Museums & Galleries Northern Ireland, the organisation responsible for the province’s publicly-owned museums and art galleries.
